Interroll Wiring Diagram vs. Carton Flow: How to Order the Right Millennium, Peregrine, or CVS Part
Let me start with the honest answer: there's no single 'Interroll' part, and anyone who tells you otherwise probably hasn't spent five years buying conveyor components. I've been doing operations purchasing since 2020—roughly 60-80 orders a year. I'm not an engineer, but I'm the one who gets asked to 'find the part for the thing that just stopped' and turn it into a purchase order.
The search terms people use—Interroll wiring diagram, Interroll carton flow, Millennium, Peregrine, CVS—point to different parts of the Interroll world. They are not the same family. So before you order anything, figure out which kind of problem you actually have. There's no universal answer, but there is a straightforward way to tell.
First, Which Interroll Problem Are You Trying to Solve?
Think of it in three situations:
- Powered drive. If the part has a motor, a control board, or a cable, you need a wiring diagram. This is where people search 'Interroll wiring diagram.'
- Gravity flow storage. If you're building or repairing a carton flow rack, you need rollers, wheel rails, and flow control—not wiring.
- Series name or abbreviation. If the request mentions Millennium, Peregrine, or CVS, you're playing a matching game. The name is a clue, not a part number.
These situations don't overlap much. That's why a generic search isn't enough.
Situation A: When You Need an Interroll Wiring Diagram
Quick test: if the part has a motor or a control board, you need a wiring diagram. If it doesn't, you don't.
From the outside, an Interroll RollerDrive looks like a simple metal cylinder. The reality is that the wiring can change with the control board revision and the voltage class. I've had two EC310 drives on my desk that looked identical from the outside, but one was a newer revision and had a different layout for the customer-supplied connections.
So when someone says 'it's just an Interroll,' that's not enough. Here's what I do:
- Get the full part number and serial number. The label is usually on the side of the drive or on the cable. Take a photo before installing anything.
- Find the wiring diagram for that exact version. A diagram for 'EC310' is a start, but there are multiple board revisions. A drawing from a similar machine can be worse than no drawing because you'll wire it confidently and wrong.
- Check the legend first. Interroll drawings include abbreviations such as CVS, EC, and others. In my experience, CVS on a drawing means you need to look at the legend for that specific drawing—do not assume it means the same thing as the previous one.
- Send the picture to your distributor. This sounds too simple, but it works. A good distributor can match the label and the wiring request faster than I can parse a wiring schematic.
One more thing: do not trust wire colors alone. The colors can be the same while the functions are different, depending on whether you have a 24 V DC RollerDrive or a 230/400 V drum motor. I learned that after a wrong replacement cost us a day of downtime. A wiring diagram isn't a suggestion; it's the spec.
Situation B: When You Need Interroll Carton Flow
Carton flow is the opposite. No motor, no wiring, no diagram. It's a gravity-based rack where cartons roll forward on their own. If you search 'Interroll wiring diagram' but you actually need carton flow, you're going to get the wrong answers.
The biggest mistake I see is buying a 'standard' carton flow track and assuming it will work for every box. At minimum, you need to know:
- Carton weight and bottom condition. A flexible plastic tote slides differently than stiff cardboard. Heavy boxes need rollers; light boxes can use wheel rails.
- Lane width and depth. Interroll carton flow systems use pre-engineered frames and roller tracks, but the width and spacing have to match your rack openings.
- Slope and flow control. If your floor is not level, the rack won't behave the same as the catalog photo. In that case, brakes or speed controllers are not optional.
I went back and forth for a week on a new picking lane: standard roller track vs. a track with speed control. The standard version was about 20% cheaper on paper. But our maintenance lead pointed out that the rack sat across a section of floor with a slight slope, and heavier cartons would build up speed. We ordered the braked version. I should add that the supplier didn't push us up—we only discovered the option after asking.
Bottom line for carton flow: match the track to the carton and the slope. The Interroll brand gives you a predictable, well-supported component; it still has to be laid out correctly.
Situation C: When the Part Is Known as 'Millennium,' 'Peregrine,' or 'CVS'
This is the situation that confuses buyers the most. Millennium and Peregrine are not part numbers. They're series names for plastic conveyor chain and modular belt products made under the System Plast brand, which is part of Interroll. When a technician says 'we need the Millennium belt,' they're telling you the family. The family doesn't include the pitch, width, length, or material.
People assume a series name is enough to order a replacement. What they don't see is that the same series can be made in multiple widths and pitches that don't fit the same sprockets. The series name is a clue, not an order. It took me four years and at least two wrong orders to learn that.
CVS is harder to pin down. I've seen it in part numbers, and I've seen it in electrical drawings. The common thread is that you still need the exact code and the document legend, not just the letters.
So here's what I'd do if a work order mentions Millennium, Peregrine, or CVS:
- Take a picture of the markings on the product. The printed code on a chain or belt is more useful than any series name.
- Measure pitch and width. For chain, count links over a set distance. For modular belt, measure the pitch and pin center distances.
- Ask whether it's a direct replacement or a redesign. A series name may have an updated version. The manufacturer can confirm compatibility if you give them the old code.
If you see CVS on a wiring diagram, don't panic. Check the legend on that drawing. Abbreviations are drawing-specific, and in the conveyor world the same letters can mean different things on different documents. If a work order says 'CVS' and there's no diagram, ask for the physical part marking. That will tell you more than the acronym.
How to Tell Which Situation You're In
You can skip most of this article by looking at the old part. Honestly, that's what I do now. The part doesn't lie.
If it has a motor or control board, start with the wiring diagram and the label. If it's a gravity carton flow track, start with carton size and slope. If it's a chain or belt, start with pitch, width, and the printed code. Millennium, Peregrine, and CVS are useful search keywords, but they're not the full answer.
One last point: I'm not an engineer, and I don't pretend to know every Interroll variant. I trust the people who are willing to say 'send me the photo of the label' more than the ones who say 'they're all the same.' In a weird way, that honesty makes buying easier. A supplier who knows the limits of a series name is more likely to get the order right.
